Calculus AI Solver

Type a question, paste an image, get a step-by-step solution.

How to use it

  1. Type the problem as it is written, for example "find the integral of x e^x dx". Use ^ for powers and / for fractions.

  2. Read the solution. It comes as numbered steps, each naming the rule it uses, and ends with the final answer.

  3. If a step is unclear, ask about it in your own words, such as "explain step 2". Ask for a similar problem to try one yourself.

What calculus AI covers

  • Limits, including L'Hôpital's rule (for the groundwork, see the precalculus problem solver)
  • Derivatives: product, quotient and chain rules, implicit differentiation
  • Applications: tangent lines, optimization, related rates, often set as word problems
  • Integrals: substitution, by parts, partial fractions, definite integrals
  • Series: convergence tests and Taylor polynomials
  • Differential equations: separable and first-order linear

Worked example: ∫ x eˣ dx

Integrate by parts with u = x and dv = eˣ dx, so du = dx and v = eˣ.

∫ x eˣ dx = x eˣ − ∫ eˣ dx = x eˣ − eˣ + C.

Check by differentiating: eˣ + x eˣ − eˣ = x eˣ.

Common mistakes

  • Forgetting + C on an indefinite integral.
  • Leaving out the inner derivative in the chain rule.
  • Using L'Hôpital's rule on a limit that isn't 0/0 or ∞/∞.
  • Keeping the old bounds after a substitution in a definite integral.

Questions students ask

What makes an AI good for calculus?

It should show the method, not only the answer, and let you question each step. The AI Math Solver names the rule in every step, and you can ask about any of them.

Can it make mistakes?

Yes, like any AI. Check results the quick way: differentiate an antiderivative, or plug a value into a limit.

Do I need an account?

No. You can type or dictate problems without signing in. Signing in with Google or Discord is free; it keeps your chats beyond 3 days and lets you attach a photo, PDF or Word file.
